Weekend Weather Across Western & Central Mass Looks Fairly Decent

For Tonight: A frontal system is expected to push through the area during the after midnight hours of tonight.

This means that cloudy skies are expected throughout tonight and there will be a few showers around during the after midnight hours. Low temperatures will be near 55 Degrees. Winds will be Southwest at 5 to 10 mph.

Saturday: That frontal system will push to the east during the morning with high pressure pushing into the area during the afternoon.

Any isolated showers early in the morning will end by about 9 am with increasing sunshine expected by afternoon. High temperatures will be between 70 and 75 Degrees. Winds will be Northwest at 5 to 10 mph.

Saturday Night: A high pressure system is expected to control the weather during Saturday night.

Clear skies are expected on Saturday night with low temperatures between 45 and 50 Degrees. Winds will be North at 5 to 10 mph.

In addition to watching the weather, I’m also keeping an eye on the chances for an Aurora Borealis display across the region on Saturday night. While clouds tonight will certainly stop any chances of seeing the Aurora, clear skies on Saturday night should allow for the possibility of you seeing the Aurora if you look towards the northern horizon. Your phone’s camera might be able to capture the Aurora better than your eyes as the sensitivity of phone cameras are much greater. That said, I would keep your expectations extremely low as an extreme display like we saw back in May are exceptionally rare & only occur about once a decade or so.

Sunday: A sunny day is expected on Sunday thanks to an area of high pressure. High temperatures will be between 65 and 70 Degrees. Winds will be North at 5 to 10 mph in the morning and Southeast at 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon.

Monday: A frontal system is expected to push through the area bringing with it a rainy Monday across the entire area.

Fairly widespread showers are expected throughout the day on Monday. That said, rainfall amounts look to be quite light. High temperatures will be near 65 Degrees.

Tuesday Through Next Friday: A stretch of partly sunny days and clear nights are expected throughout the middle and later parts of next week. In addition, the air mass across the region looks to be rather cool and there is even the chance of some isolated areas of frost a couple of those nights (Probably Wednesday night and Thursday night).

High temperatures throughout the period from Tuesday to next Friday will be between 55 and 60 Degrees. Low temperatures on Monday night and Tuesday night will be near 40 Degrees. Low temperatures Wednesday night and Thursday night will be between 34 and 39 Degrees with isolated areas of frost possible.
