Very High Fire Danger Expected This Weekend Across Western & Central Mass

For Tonight: A “dry” cold front is expected to push through the area late tonight.

While there will be no showers at all with the front, it will cause skies to become cloudy during the late night hours after a clear start to the night.

Low temperatures will be between 40 and 45 Degrees. Winds will be Southwest at 5 to 10 mph before midnight and West to Northwest at 7 to 14 mph after midnight.

Very High Fire Danger For Saturday: The combination of lots of sunshine, very dry ground conditions, gusty winds and low relative humidity values will lead to a very high danger for brush fires and wildfires throughout Saturday. Any outdoor burning is highly discouraged due to the very high fire danger conditions.

High temperatures will be between 60 and 65 Degrees. Winds will be West to Northwest at 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30-35 mph.

Saturday Night: Clear to partly cloudy skies are expected throughout Saturday night with low temperatures near 35 Degrees. Winds will be Northwest at 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph.

Very High Fire Danger Expected On Sunday As Well: Lots of sunshine can be expected on Sunday along with a continuation of gusty Northwest winds. This means that the fire danger on Sunday will be very high and any outdoor burning is highly discouraged.

High temperatures Sunday will be between 50 and 55 Degrees. Winds will be Northwest at 8 to 16 mph with gusts to 25-30 mph.

Next Week’s Weather Outlook: Very little, if any rainfall is anticipated throughout next week leading to a continuation of very dry ground conditions, low relatively humidity levels and a high to very high fire danger.

Monday looks sunny with high temperatures near 50 Degrees.

Tuesday is expected to be partly sunny with high temperatures near 55 Degrees.

A warm up in temperatures is expected for Wednesday and Halloween under partly sunny skies. High temperatures Wednesday will be between 70 and 75 Degrees. High temperatures on Halloween will be between 75 and 80 Degrees. It should be noted that temperatures on Halloween could be in the top 5 warmest Halloweens on record.
