Very Cold & Very Windy Conditions Expected Tonight; Cold & Very Windy Conditions Expected On Tuesday

For Tonight: A strong low pressure system sitting over Canada continues to exert a very tight pressure gradient over the area. This is the reason for the nearly 70 mph wind gusts that have occurred across the region today.

These very strong winds are expected to continue through all of tonight with West winds of 20 to 35 mph with gusts to 50-60 mph expected.

In addition to the very strong winds, it is expected to be very cold tonight. Low temperatures will be between 2 and 6 Degrees. Wind chill temperatures will be between 15 and 20 below zero.

Finally, the isolated to scattered snow shower activity that’s been occurring at times today is likely to dissipate this evening with partly cloudy skies expected during the overnight hours of tonight.

Tuesday: Another very windy day is expected on Tuesday with West winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 50 to 55 mph throughout the day.

It will be a cold day under a mixture of sunshine and clouds. High temperatures will struggle to make it much above 20 Degrees with wind chill temperatures hovering between minus 5 and minus 15 in the morning and near Zero during the afternoon.

Tuesday Night: The winds will lessen a little during Tuesday night, but it will be very cold.

Skies during Tuesday night will be clear to partly cloudy with low temperatures between Zero and 5 above zero. Winds will be West at 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 35 mph. Wind chill temperatures will be between minus 15 and minus 20.

Wednesday: Partly sunny skies are expected on Wednesday with high temperatures near 25 Degrees. Winds will be West at 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph.

Thursday and Friday: It continues to look as though an area of low pressure will track far enough off of the East Coast to not majorly affect our weather during the day on Thursday.

The way things are looking now is that some light snow is possible during the day on Thursday. Snow amounts right now will be quite light and on the order of 1 to 2 inches or so & that may even be too high of a forecast.

Once that storm system moves away, it’ll lead to a partly sunny day on Friday.

High temperatures Thursday will be near 25 Degrees. High temperatures Friday will be near 30 Degrees.

The Weekend: An area of high pressure is expected to build over the region leading to a quiet weekend in terms of weather.

Saturday looks partly sunny with high temperatures near 30 Degrees.

Sunday is expected to be sunny with high temperatures between 35 and 40 Degrees.
