For This Afternoon: Lots of sunshine is expected throughout this afternoon with temperatures between 65 and 70 Degrees. Winds will be Southwest at 5 to 10 mph. Tonight: Skies will start out clear to partly cloudy with skies gradually becoming cloudy late tonight as an area of low pressure moves northward along the East Coast of the United States. Low temperatures will be between 39 and 44 Degrees. Winds will be Southwest at 5 to 10 mph. Sunday: Clouds will continue to thicken up and lower during the morning with periods of rain overspreading all of Central Mass by early afternoon with some intermittent light rain possibly spreading as far west as the lower Pioneer Valley by late afternoon. Areas around the upper Pioneer Valley and certainly the Berkshires are expected to be rain-free throughout the day Sunday. High temperatures will be between 55 and 60 Degrees. Winds will be Northeast at 5 to 10 mph. Sunday Night Through Monday Night: Rain is expected across all of Western and Central Mass throughout Sunday night as that low pressure slowly moves northward along the East Coast of the United States. Low temperatures will be between 50 and 55 Degrees. Winds will be Northeast at 5 to 10 mph. It appears that steady rain will continue through Monday morning before it becomes a scattering of showers during Monday afternoon. Some scattered showers are then expected to last through Monday night. Total rainfall amounts look to average between one half of an inch and three quarters of an inch across the entire area. High temperatures Monday will be between 60 and 65 Degrees. Low temperatures Monday night will be between 50 and 55 Degrees. Tuesday Through Friday: Our area is going to be caught in-between a high pressure system located over Quebec, Canada and an upper level low pressure system that’ll be located off of the North Carolina coast. This means that it will be a tug of war between dry air from that high pressure system to the north and a moist easterly wind flow to our south. This is going to lead to quite a bit of uncertainty in the forecast for much of next week. I think that, at the very least, we will see a fairly lengthy stretch of cloudy weather that lasts throughout Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday with sunshine returning for Friday. In addition to this, some rain is possible from time to time, especially during Tuesday night, Wednesday and Wednesday night. High temperatures Tuesday will be between 60 and 65 Degrees. High temperatures Wednesday and Thursday will be near 65 Degrees. High temperatures Friday will be near 60 Degrees.
