Some Strong To Severe Thunderstorms Possible This Evening Across Western & Central Mass

While nowhere near as bad as yesterday, there continues to be some smoky, hazy skies across the entire area. It is expected that smoky, hazy skies will continue through this afternoon with temperatures between 85 and 90 Degrees. Some Strong To Severe Thunderstorms Are Possible Between 6 pm This Evening & Midnight Tonight: A frontal system is expected to push across Southern New England this evening and it will bring with it a round of thunderstorms and some of them may be strong to severe. It is anticipated that thunderstorms will begin to affect Western and Central Mass by around 6 pm this evening and then continue throughout this evening. These thunderstorms are forecast to move out of our area by about midnight tonight. Some of the thunderstorms may be strong to severe with wind gusts of up to 50-60 mph, very heavy rainfall and frequent lightning. Red Sox & Woo Sox Game Forecasts For This Evening: Partly cloudy skies are expected at the start of both games with temperatures in the mid 80s. Thunderstorms are expected in Worcester by about 8-9 pm and this will probably lead to at least a rain delay & a possible game postponement. As for Boston, thunderstorms are expected to begin between about 9 and 10 pm and this could lead to a rain delay near the end of the game. Wednesday is expected to start out cloudy, but is expected to become sunny during the afternoon. High temperatures Wednesday will be between 75 and 80 Degrees.
