For Tonight: A mixture of clouds and stars are expected this evening and an isolated snow flurry cannot be ruled out either. Skies will become clear after midnight tonight. Low temperatures will be near 20 Degrees. Winds will be West at 8 to 16 mph.
Monday: Lots of sunshine can be expected throughout Monday with high temperatures between 33 and 38 Degrees. Winds will be West to Northwest at 7 to 14 mph.
Monday Night: Clear to partly cloudy skies are expected on Monday night with low temperatures between 20 and 25 Degrees. Winds will be West to Northwest at 5 to 10 mph.
Tuesday Through Wednesday: A cold high pressure system will remain in place across the region from Tuesday through Wednesday.
Tuesday looks partly sunny with high temperatures near 35 Degrees. Winds will be West to Northwest at 10 to 15 mph.
Tuesday night looks clear to partly cloudy with low temperatures between 21 and 27 Degrees. Winds will be West at 7 to 14 mph.
Wednesday is expected to feature partly sunny skies through early afternoon. Skies then become cloudy during the mid and late afternoon hours as a low pressure system approaches the region. High temperatures will be near 35 Degrees.
Some Accumulating Snow Expected For Wednesday Night Into Thursday Morning: A frontal system and its associated area of low pressure is expected to push across the region during Wednesday night before exiting to the east during the day on Thursday. While the temperatures will definitely be cold enough to support snow, the entire system lacks much in the way of moisture. Because of this, snow amounts with this weather system look to be on the light side, but it’ll be enough to put a little bit of a snow cover down across the entire area.
Light snow will overspread the entire area between about 7 and 10 pm Wednesday evening. The light snow is then expected to continue throughout the overnight hours of Wednesday night into the first part of Thursday morning. Current indications seem to suggest that the light snow will taper off to scattered snow showers by mid-morning Thursday. Some scattered snow showers will then continue into the early afternoon hours of Thursday before coming to an end.
As for snow totals, I’m thinking something like 1 to 2 inches for the Pioneer Valley of Western Mass as well as for areas near and south of the Mass Pike. For areas north of the Mass Pike, snow totals of 2 to 3 inches are a possibility for Wednesday night into Thursday morning. One area that I’m going to be watching closely for higher snow amounts are the northern Worcester Hills and areas near and north of Route 2. It’s possible that 3 to 4 inches or so of snow could accumulate across these areas.
Low temperatures Wednesday night will be between 25 and 30 Degrees. High temperatures Thursday will be near 35 Degrees.
Friday Through Next Sunday: A strong northwesterly flow of cold air is expected to drag down some of the coldest temperatures so far this season.
Friday is expected to be sunny, windy and cold with high temperatures near 30 Degrees. Wind chill temperatures may be in the teens all day Friday.
Saturday looks partly sunny, windy and cold with the possibility of some isolated snow flurries during the afternoon. High temperatures will be between 25 and 30 Degrees. Wind chill temperatures on Saturday may be in the teens all day long.
Next Sunday looks sunny, windy and quite cold. High temperatures will be between 20 and 25 Degrees. Wind chill temperatures during next Sunday could be between 5 and 10 Degrees.
