For Tonight & Monday: The first half of tonight looks cloudy, but dry across the entire area.
Precipitation in the form of a mix of rain and snow is expected near and south of the Mass Pike and in the form of snow is expected north of the Mass Pike beginning between about 2 am and 4 am Monday morning.
It looks increasingly more likely that it will be snowing everywhere across Western and Central Mass by sunrise Monday morning. Snow is then expected to continue throughout Monday morning across the entire area. Overall, it appears that the intensity of the snow will be light in nature and because of this, the snow will only accumulate on grassy and other non-pavement surfaces & just melt on contact on pavement surfaces.
Some snow may last into early Monday afternoon before it ends. Skies then will be cloudy during the rest of Monday afternoon, but there could be a stray rain shower or two during the mid and late afternoon hours of Monday.
As for snow amounts during Monday morning, it appears that a dusting of slushy snow can be expected in the Pioneer Valley of Western Mass. Elsewhere across the region, upwards of one inch of slushy snow on non-pavement surfaces can be expected during Monday morning. One exception may be in the Berkshires where up to 2 inches of snow accumulation is possible during Monday morning.
Low temperatures tonight will be near 35 Degrees. High temperatures Monday will be between 35 and 40 Degrees. Winds tonight will be North at 5 to 10 mph. Winds on Monday will be North to Northeast at 5 to 10 mph.
Tuesday: A strong cold front is expected to push through the region during Tuesday morning. There is the possibility that some scattered snow showers and even a snow squall or two could occur with the frontal passage between 7 am and 10 am Tuesday morning. Once the front moves through, skies will become partly sunny during Tuesday afternoon.
High temperatures will be near 40 Degrees. Winds will be West at 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 40 mph.
Tuesday Night & Wednesday: A cold night is expected on Tuesday night under clear to partly cloudy skies. Low temperatures will be near 25 Degrees. Winds will be West at 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 35-40 mph. Wind chill temperatures will be between 5 and 15 Degrees during Tuesday night.
Wednesday looks to be a sunny to partly sunny day with high temperatures near 45 Degrees.
