For Tonight Into Sunday Morning: A fast moving weak low pressure system will push across northern New England during tonight into Sunday morning bringing with it a bit of snow to our area later tonight into Sunday morning.
Light snow is expected to overspread between 9 pm and 11 pm across Western Mass. This light snow will then begin across Central Mass between about 10 pm and midnight.
The light snow is then expected to continue throughout the rest of the night tonight and then come to an end from west to east between 6 am and 8 am Sunday morning.
Snow accumulations from this system will average about an inch for a majority of Western and Central Mass. It’s possible that areas in the northern Worcester Hills as well as areas near and north of Route 2 may end up with closer to 2 inches of snow accumulation.
Low temperatures tonight will be between 25 and 30 Degrees. Winds will be Southwest at 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph.
Sunday Afternoon: Skies are expected to become sunny to partly sunny by Sunday afternoon with high temperatures between 40 and 45 Degrees. Winds will be West at 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph.
Monday & Monday Night: Skies are expected to start out partly sunny during Monday morning, however, precipitation will overspread the entire area during the afternoon as another storm system crosses the region.
The precipitation type is something that’ll need to be monitored closely as colder air might be tough to completely erode away, especially in the Worcester Hills.
This means that I think that it’ll probably be just rain across areas near and south of the Mass Pike as well as across the Pioneer Valley of Western Mass. For areas north of the Mass Pike and especially across the Worcester Hills, it looks like there might be issues with freezing rain during Monday afternoon and this is something that’ll need to be watched very closely.
Precipitation in the form of rain for most areas, except for a possible continuation of freezing rain across the Worcester Hills is expected to persist into Monday evening before it comes to an end later Monday night.
High temperatures Monday will be between 35 and 40 Degrees across the Pioneer Valley and across areas near and south of the Mass Pike and between 30 and 35 Degrees across the Worcester Hills. Low temperatures Monday night will be between 30 and 35 Degrees.
Tuesday: Cloudy skies are expected throughout the day on Tuesday with high temperatures near 40 Degrees.
Wednesday: Yet another robust frontal system is expected to push through the region during the day on Wednesday bringing with it all rain across the entire area.
I do think that it will be a soaking rain everywhere across Western and Central Mass throughout the day on Wednesday with high temperatures that are near 55 Degrees.
It’s possible that the rain might end as a bit of snow during Wednesday evening as that front moves to the east. Even if this happens, any snow amounts will be very minimal. Low temperatures Wednesday night will be between 30 and 35 Degrees and because of this, we might have to watch for roads, driveways and parking lots to become icy after midnight Wednesday night as leftover moisture might freeze up.
Thursday Through Friday: Skies on Thursday will be partly sunny with high temperatures near 40 Degrees.
Friday looks sunny with high temperatures between 30 and 35 Degrees.
