Snow & Sleet Monday Morning Changes To All Rain By Late Monday Morning With Rain Continuing Through Monday Afternoon

For Tonight: Clear skies are expected early this evening. Increasing clouds are then expected later this evening as a warm front out ahead of a low pressure system over the Great Lakes region lifts northward towards our area. Any precipitation associated with that warm front will wait to begin across the region until about sunrise Monday morning.

Low temperatures will be between 20 and 25 Degrees. Winds will be West to Northwest at 5 to 10 mph before midnight and Southeast at 5 to 10 mph after midnight.

Monday: That warm front will continue lifting northward towards our area during Monday leading to a pretty unsettled day across the area.

Snow and sleet will begin across the entire area around sunrise Monday morning. This snow and sleet is then expected to continue for a few hours on Monday morning before it changes to rain from south to north.

This change from snow and sleet to all rain will first occur across the lower Pioneer Valley of Western Mass around mid-morning Monday and then across areas near and south of the Mass Pike around late Monday morning. Further north, the changeover from snow and sleet to all rain is likely to take longer to occur due to the expectations of below freezing temperatures having a tougher time to rise to above freezing. Because of this, snow and sleet may last until about midday across areas north of the Mass Pike and especially in the Berkshires and the Worcester Hills.

Most areas of Western and Central Mass will probably see a dusting to perhaps up to one inch of snow and sleet accumulation during Monday morning. The exception looks to be across the Berkshires and the northern Worcester Hills where 1 to 2 inches of snow and sleet accumulation looks likely.

Rain is then expected throughout much of Monday afternoon across the entire area & this should quickly wash away the snow that accumulates. The rain is then expected to come to an end during the late afternoon hours.

High temperatures will be between 40 and 45 Degrees. Winds will be Southeast at 5 to 10 mph in the morning and becoming West to Northwest at 5 to 10 mph during the afternoon.

Monday Night & Tuesday: Clear to partly cloudy skies are expected on Monday night with low temperatures between 30 and 35 Degrees. Winds will be West at 6 to 12 mph.

Tuesday looks to feature a mixture of some sunshine and lots of clouds with high temperatures near 50 Degrees. Winds will be West at 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph.

Wednesday: An area of low pressure is expected to track well east of New England during the day on Wednesday. The track of this low pressure system should be far enough offshore to not be a concern in terms of our weather on Wednesday.

This means that skies on Wednesday will feature a mixture of some sunshine and lots of clouds. High temperatures will be near 50 Degrees.

Thursday & Friday: An area of high pressure will control the weather throughout the day on Thursday. This means that lots of sunshine can be expected throughout Thursday with high temperatures between 45 and 50 Degrees.

A partly sunny day is expected on Friday with high temperatures near 50 Degrees.
