Rain Thursday Night May Change To Either A Rain-Snow Mix Or Perhaps Some Wet Snow On Friday

For Tonight & Tuesday: Cloudy skies are expected throughout tonight as that frontal system slowly moves away. In addition, areas of drizzle are expected to continue during the first half of tonight. Low temperatures will be between 30 and 35 Degrees. Winds will be North to Northwest at 10 to 20 mph.

Tuesday is expected to be a sunny day with high temperatures between 55 and 60 Degrees. Winds will be North to Northwest at 7 to 15 mph.

Wednesday Through Thursday: Wednesday also looks like it’ll be a nice day with lots of sunshine expected. High temperatures will be near 60 Degrees. Winds will be Southeast at 5 to 10 mph.

Skies will become cloudy during the day on Thursday as a frontal system approaches the region. High temperatures will be between 55 and 60 Degrees.

Thursday Night Through Friday: That frontal system is expected to slowly move through the area during Thursday night and Friday. As it does so, it appears that an area of low pressure system will form along this front near the south coast of New England late Thursday night. The development of this low pressure system could make things really interesting across the region as it will try to pull down colder air on its western side as it moves through the area. This will lead to the potential scenario of rain to occur at first during Thursday night that tries to change to wet snow during Friday morning. The track and strength of this low pressure system will be crucial in determining how quickly the rain changes to snow on Friday morning and whether the snow persists into Friday afternoon or not.

At this point, I’m thinking that we’ll have rain begin across the entire area during Thursday evening with the rain continuing through the after midnight hours of Thursday night. Low temperatures Thursday night will be near 35 Degrees.

The forecast for Friday morning is an uncertain one, for now, due to questions on whether the rain will actually change to snow and if it does so, how quickly will it occur.

For now, I think that we’ll see rain probably change to wet snow across the Berkshires and across the northern Worcester Hills during the morning hours of Friday. Elsewhere across the region, it’s quite possible that the rain will change to a mix of rain and wet snow during Friday morning. The exception to this will be right in the Connecticut River Valley of Western Mass where the precipitation stays as all rain.

During Friday afternoon, some wet snow may continue across the Berkshires and across the northern Worcester Hills with a rain-snow mix possible elsewhere across the region. Again, the exception to this looks to be across the Connecticut River Valley where just rain continues during Friday afternoon.

Areas that do see wet snow on Friday such as across the Berkshires and the northern Worcester Hills may see snow accumulations of 1 to 2 inches or so. Elsewhere across the region, less than one inch of slushy snowfall is possible on Friday with no snow accumulations anticipated across the Connecticut River Valley.

As I previously mentioned, the forecast for Friday is quite uncertain and changes to the forecast are certainly likely as we receive more data over the next few days.

High temperatures Friday will be near 35 Degrees.

What I wouldn't do to see a bit more snowflakes falling from above before this winter season is gone for good🩵❄️🌡❄️🩵🙏🏻❄️ And before I begin to feel like I'm melting thanks to hot summer days. Even worse are those hot days that are also humid. That's when I both feel & look like I'm melting and leaving little puddles of myself everywhere I go🥵😖
