On and off rain, which will be mixed with wet snow at times, is expected throughout the rest of this afternoon into early this evening. No snow accumulation is expected. It will continue to be cold this afternoon with temperatures remaining in the mid to upper 30s. Winds will be Northeast at 5 to 10 mph.
The rain will end early this evening and the rest of tonight will be mostly cloudy. Low temperatures will be near 30 Degrees. Winds will be Northeast at 5 to 10 mph before midnight and Northwest at 7 to 14 mph after midnight.
A strong cold front is expected to move through the region during Tuesday morning bringing with it some scattered snow showers and the possibility of a isolated snow squall.
These snow showers and possible isolated snow squalls will first move through Western Mass between 6 am and 8 am and then cross Central Mass between 7 am and 10 am. Localized snow accumulations of a quick dusting are possible, along with reduced visibilities for a short time when they move through.
It is then expected to be quite windy once the front moves through. Expect West winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 50 mph from late morning through all of Tuesday afternoon.
High temperatures Tuesday will be near 40 Degrees.
A cold and windy night is expected on Tuesday night under clear to partly cloudy skies. Low temperatures will be near 20 Degrees & unfortunately, this could be very harmful to the budding fruit trees. Winds will be West to Northwest at 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 40-50 mph.
Wednesday & Thursday both look sunny to partly sunny. High temperatures Wednesday will be between 40 and 45 Degrees. High temperatures Thursday will be near 50 Degrees.
Finally, Wednesday night also looks cold & this could be another night where budding fruit trees are harmed due to the cold. Low temperatures Wednesday night will be near 25 Degrees.
