For This Afternoon: Light snow will gradually spread across Western and Central Mass from south to north the rest of this afternoon. Snow accumulation this afternoon will range from a dusting north of the Mass Pike to around one inch or so along and south of the Mass Pike. Temperatures this afternoon will be in the lower 30s. Tonight: A break in the light snow is possible early this evening with light snow beginning again around midnight tonight. Light snow is then expected after midnight tonight. Additional snow amounts tonight will average from 1 to 3 inches across the entire area. Low temperatures tonight will be between 20 and 25 Degrees. Friday: Light snow is expected to continue throughout the day on Friday with the steadiest snow expected during the morning and a more intermittent light snow expected during Friday afternoon. An additional 1 to 2 inches of snow accumulation is expected on Friday. High temperatures Friday will be between 30 and 35 Degrees. Total Snow Amounts by the time the snow ends on Friday evening will average between 3 and 5 inches. It should be noted though that this total snowfall number will occur over a 36 hour time period and hourly snow rates will not exceed 0.5 inch. This means that this will be a very manageable snow event in terms of shoveling and plowing. Saturday Through Sunday: The weekend weather forecast still looks good with no weather problems expected. Saturday is expected to feature a mixture of sunshine and clouds with high temperatures between 30 and 35 Degrees. Sunday is expected to be sunny with light winds and high temperatures between 30 and 35 Degrees. Next Week’s Weather Forecast: On Monday, a fast moving low pressure system is expected to pass across New England bringing some snow to the area Monday afternoon and Monday evening. At this point, snow amounts of 2 to 4 inches or so seems possible. At this point, much quieter weather looks quite possible for the rest of next week with no other storm systems expected from Tuesday through Friday of next week. Also, high temperatures from Tuesday to Friday of next week looks milder as compared to what we’ve seen lately with readings in the 40 to 45 Degree range.
