Cold Weather Continues Through Saturday With Ice Melting Milder Temperatures Expected From Sunday Into Next Week

For Tonight: An area of high pressure will control the weather tonight as a low pressure system tracks off of the Mid-Atlantic coast. That low pressure system is expected to stay too far offshore to adversely affect our weather on Thursday and Thursday night.

Clear to partly cloudy skies are expected throughout tonight. Low temperatures will be between 3 and 8 Degrees. Winds will be Northwest at 5 to 10 mph.

Thursday & Thursday Night: As I just mentioned, a storm system is expected to track well south of Southern New England sparing the area from a winter storm.

Thursday looks to feature a mixture of some sunshine and lots of clouds. High temperatures will be near 25 Degrees. Winds will be North to Northwest at 5 to 10 mph.

Thursday night is expected to be cloudy throughout the night with low temperatures between 10 and 15 Degrees. Winds will be Northwest at 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph.

Friday: An area of high pressure will begin to build into the area on Friday. That said, there is expected to be an increased pressure gradient between an intense storm system headed to Atlantic Canada and that high pressure system leading to a windy day across the area. That said, the winds will be nothing compared to what occurred from Sunday night through Tuesday.

Skies on Friday will be partly sunny with high temperatures near 30 Degrees. Winds will be Northwest at 15 to 20 mph with gusts to 35 mph.

This Weekend: An area of high pressure will control the weather throughout this weekend. While cold temperatures will persist on Saturday, there is likely to be a warm up in temperatures on Sunday.

Saturday will be sunny with high temperatures between 30 and 35 Degrees.

Now let’s melt that ice as temperatures on Sunday will rise well above freezing under partly sunny skies. High temperatures Sunday will be near 40 Degrees.

Next Week’s Weather Outlook: While next week looks much quieter as compared to what the last couple of weeks have been like, there are a couple of weather systems that I will be keeping an eye on.

Monday looks cloudy and there may be some late day scattered rain showers as a frontal boundary approaches the region. High temperatures will be between 40 and 45 Degrees.

That frontal system pushes through the area during Monday night and Tuesday. This front looks fairly weak, but it should still have just enough moisture to produce scattered snow showers on Monday night and the possibility of some scattered rain showers during Tuesday. Low temperatures Monday night will be between 25 and 30 Degrees. High temperatures will be between 40 and 45 Degrees.

Wednesday looks partly sunny with high temperatures between 40 and 45 Degrees.

Turning to late next week, there is the possibility of a storm system affecting our area. It is way too soon to discuss any more specifics than that, except to say that it could bring some snow to the area for next Thursday night into next Friday. It will be a weather system that I will be keeping an eye on and I’ll have updates for you as needed. High temperatures next Thursday will be near 40 Degrees. High temperatures next Friday will be between 30 and 35 Degrees.
