Very windy and quite cold conditions are expected to persist throughout This Afternoon.
Additionally, some moisture from Lake Effect snow squalls off of the Great Lakes may produce some isolated snow showers during the late afternoon hours, especially over Western Mass into the western Worcester Hills.
Temperatures this afternoon will struggle to make it to 20 Degrees and probably will stay closer to 18 or 19 Degrees for most areas. Winds will be West at 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 50 to 60 mph. Wind chill temperatures this afternoon will hover around Zero.
Tonight is expected to be very cold and windy under clear to partly cloudy skies. Low temperatures will be between Zero and 5 above zero. Winds will be West at 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 40 mph. Wind chill temperatures will be between minus 15 and minus 20.
Much less wind is expected on Wednesday under sunny skies. It will be cold with high temperatures near 25 Degrees. Winds will be West at 10 to 20 mph.
While I'm still keeping close tabs on a storm system tracking off of the East Coast for our weather on Thursday, it still looks like it'll stay too far offshore to be much of an impact for our weather. It might come just close enough to bring the area some intermittent light snow during Thursday afternoon and evening. At most, I could see perhaps an inch or so of snow accumulation, but that might even be pushing it.
*** DONATE TO HELP WITH COSTS & SUPPORT ROUTE 20 WEATHER ***
First, I’d like to thank everyone once again for your continued support. If it were not for you, I would not be able to do a job that I love so very much – forecasting the weather for Western and Central Mass.
I’m reaching out to you to ask if you would help us out in alleviate the costs required for producing these weather forecasts for Western and Central Mass.
I do not get paid for the weather forecasts and the weather updates that I post on the Route 20 Weather website or on this Facebook page. It’s completely a public service to help out this area of the state which is vastly under served when it comes to weather coverage.
So, any donations are extremely helpful to offset the cost of the data that I pay for to analyze the weather and also for the amount of time I put into analyzing and forecasting the weather.
