For Tonight: A frontal system is expected to approach the area from the west during tonight.
Skies will become cloudy by early this evening with cloudy skies expected during the overnight hours of tonight. It appears that any steady light snow from that frontal system will hold off until Christmas Eve morning. That said, a passing snow shower or two is a possibility during the after midnight hours of tonight.
Temperatures this evening will be between 15 and 20 Degrees and will rise into the lower 20s during the after midnight hours. Winds will be Southwest at 5 to 10 mph.
Christmas Eve Day: That front will push its way across the region during Christmas Eve morning bringing with it a period of steady light snow.
Light snow looks to begin first across Western Mass between 6 and 8 am and then overspread Central Mass between about 8 and 10 am.
Light snow is then expected to continue for a few hours during the morning before it comes to an end.
Indications are that the snow will come to an end by 10-11 am across Western Mass and by 11 am-midday across Central Mass.
Snow amounts of around one inch continues to look likely during Christmas Eve morning across a majority of Western and Central Mass. There is the possibility of 1 to 2 inches of snow accumulation across the northern Worcester Hills and across the Berkshires.
The snowfall Christmas Eve morning will certainly freshen up the snow that we do have on the ground. The Christmas Eve morning snowfall will also guarantee a white Christmas across all of Western and Central Mass.
Skies are then expected to gradually become partly sunny during Christmas Eve afternoon.
High temperatures will be between 30 and 35 Degrees. Winds will be Southwest at 5 to 10 mph in the morning and Northwest at 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon.
Christmas Eve (Tuesday Night): Santa will have very favorable flying conditions as he takes his trip across Southern New England on Tuesday night.
Skies will be clear with low temperatures between 15 and 20 Degrees. Winds will be North to Northwest at 5 to 10 mph.
Christmas Day: Partly sunny skies are expected with high temperatures between 30 and 35 Degrees.
