A Soaking Rainfall Is Expected Sunday Through Monday; This Will Be Followed By Some Unseasonably Cold Weather Tuesday Through Thursday Across Western & Central Mass

For Tonight: Generally clear to partly cloudy skies are expected tonight with low temperatures between 43 and 48 Degrees. Winds wil be West at 8 to 16 mph.


Saturday: Lots of sunshine can be expected throughout Saturday with high temperatures between 65 and 70 Degrees. Winds will be West to Northwest at 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph.


Sunday Through Monday: A wave of low pressure is expected to track near the South Coast of New England during Sunday night . This low pressure system is expected to bring a much needed soaking rainfall to the entire area from Sunday through Monday.


Rain is expected to overspread the entire area by late morning Sunday and then continue throughout all of Sunday afternoon, all of Sunday night and much of Monday. The rain may be moderate to heavy at times during Sunday night.


Rainfall totals from Sunday through Monday are expected to range from three quarters of an inch (0.75”) to one inch across much of the area. Upwards of 1 to 1.50 inches of rainfall is expected across areas near and north of Route 2.


High temperatures Sunday will be near 50 Degrees, which will make things feel quite raw out there on Sunday. Low temperatures Sunday night will be near 45 Degrees. High temperatures Monday will be between 55 and 60 Degrees.


Winds on Sunday will be East at 5 to 10 mph. Winds on Sunday night will be Northeast at 5 to 10 mph.


Tuesday Through Thursday: Once that storm system pulls away late Monday, it’s going to pull down some quite cold air for this time of year. In fact, the northern Green Mountains and the White Mountains will likely see their first widespread snowfall of the season Monday into Tuesday and this snow may reach almost down into the valleys in northern New Hampshire and northern Vermont.


Tuesday is expected to feature a mixture of sunshine and clouds with windy conditions. In addition, a few isolated sprinkles or a shower or two is possible during the afternoon. High temperatures will struggle to reach 50 Degrees.


Wednesday looks partly sunny and it’ll still be windy. High temperatures will be near 50 Degrees.


Thursday looks sunny to partly sunny with high temperatures near 55 Degrees.
