1 To 3 Inches Of Snow Accumulation Are Expected From About 11 pm Tonight Until About 5-6 am Wednesday Morning

For The Rest Of This Afternoon: Very windy conditions are expected to continue this afternoon before they begin to decrease late this afternoon.

Skies throughout the rest of this afternoon will be partly sunny with temperatures falling through the 20s. Winds will be West to Northwest at 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 50 mph until late this afternoon when they will decrease to 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30-35 mph.

1 To 3 Inches Of Snow Accumulation Are Expected From About 11 pm Tonight Until About 5-6 am Wednesday Morning: An area of low pressure is expected to cross the region late tonight into Wednesday morning bringing with it a period of snow during the overnight hours of tonight.

Snow looks to begin across the entire area by about 11 pm tonight and then continue through the after midnight hours of tonight. A period of moderate snow is expected between about midnight and 3 am or so.

The snow is then expected to come to an end across the entire area around 5-6 am or so Wednesday morning.

My forecast snow totals for tonight’s snowfall can be found with the map attached. Overall though, 1 to 3 inches of snow accumulation can be expected with the lowest amounts occurring near and south of the Mass Pike and the higher amounts occurring near and north of Route 2.

Low temperatures tonight will be between 15 and 20 Degrees. Winds will be South to Southwest at 7 to 15 mph.

Some Brief Snow Showers & Isolated Snow Squalls Possible During Wednesday Afternoon: A secondary Arctic frontal boundary is expected to push through the area during Wednesday afternoon bringing with it the chance for some brief snow showers and isolated snow squalls.

At this point, it appears that the time frame where we may see brief snow showers and isolated snow squalls will be between 2 pm and 5 pm Wednesday afternoon. Any snow showers or squalls will be capable of producing a brief period of heavy snow that leads to a coating of snow, blowing snow and white out conditions. Because of this, hazardous travel conditions are possible in areas that do see snow showers and squalls between 2 pm and 5 pm.

Temperatures during Wednesday afternoon will be in the mid to upper 30s. Winds will be West at 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 40-50 mph.
