Nice Weather Is Expected Throughout The Rest Of This Weekend Across Western & Central Mass; Quite A Bit Of Rain Looks Very Possible Late Next Week

For The Rest Of This Afternoon: An area of high pressure will control the weather throughout the rest of this afternoon.

This means that a mixture of sunshine and clouds can be expected with temperatures near 55 Degrees. Winds will be Northwest at 10 to 15 mph.

Tonight & Sunday: That high pressure system will continue to control the weather during tonight and Sunday. While this high pressure system will bring dry weather, there is likely to be quite a bit in the way of clouds due to some instability in the atmosphere.

Cloudy skies can be expected throughout tonight with low temperatures around 35 Degrees. Winds will be Northwest at 5 to 10 mph.

Sunday looks to feature a mixture of sunshine and clouds. High temperatures will be near 50 Degrees. Winds will be North to Northwest at 10 to 15 mph.

Monday Through Wednesday: An area of high pressure over Quebec province should be strong enough to keep things dry throughout the first half of next week. It does look like an area of low pressure will track well to our southeast during the day on Tuesday. While any rain from that storm system will not affect our area, there is probably going to be a persistent easterly wind flow that’ll set up leading to cloudy skies, some sprinkles and areas of drizzle to occur during Tuesday and Wednesday.

Monday looks partly sunny with high temperatures between 45 and 50 Degrees.

Tuesday is expected to be cloudy and there may be some sprinkles and areas of drizzle around from time to time. High temperatures will be near 50 Degrees.

Wednesday looks to be about the same with lots of clouds, some sprinkles and areas of drizzle around from time to time. High temperatures will be between 45 and 50 Degrees.

A Rainy Thursday & Halloween Looks Very Possible: All indications seem to be pointing towards the potential for a rain storm across the entire area throughout Thursday, Thursday night and Halloween.

An area of low pressure is expected to push into the eastern Great Lakes region and the area around the Mid-Atlantic states by Wednesday night and Thursday. This low pressure system then looks to possibly push through the northeastern US during Thursday night and Halloween.

Rain is expected to occur all day long on Thursday. The rain is then expected to continue throughout all of Thursday night and all of Halloween. Additionally, there looks to be a time period where the rain may be heavy at times & this looks to occur from Thursday afternoon through Thursday night and into Friday morning.

Rainfall totals of 1 to 2 inches look quite possible across the entire area from Thursday through Halloween.

This storm system looks to significantly impact all of the Halloween activities throughout Thursday, Thursday night and Halloween & unfortunately, this includes trick or treating.

High temperatures Thursday will be between 50 and 55 Degrees. Low temperatures Thursday night will be near 40 Degrees. High temperatures on Halloween will be between 50 and 55 Degrees.

No Weather Issues Are Expected This Weekend Across Western & Central Mass; The Weather Could Turn Stormy Around Halloween

For Tonight: Varying amounts of clouds can be expected throughout tonight. Low temperatures will be near 40 Degrees. Winds will be West at 7 to 14 mph.

Friday: It looks as if Friday will feature a mixture of some sunshine and lots of clouds throughout the day. High temperatures will be near 55 Degrees. Winds will be West at 10 to 15 mph.

Friday night looks partly cloudy with low temperatures near 35 Degrees. Winds will be West to Northwest at 6 to 12 mph.

This Weekend: An area of high pressure is expected to be in control of the weather throughout this weekend.

Saturday looks to feature a mixture of sunshine and clouds with high temperatures near 50 Degrees. Winds will be Northwest at 10 to 15 mph.

Saturday night is expected to be partly cloudy with low temperatures between 30 and 35 Degrees.

Sunday looks partly sunny with high temperatures near 50 Degrees.

Monday Through Wednesday: It appears that the weather pattern for next week is going to trend more stormy across the region, especially around Halloween.

Monday looks partly sunny as that high pressure system remains in control of the weather. High temperatures will be near 50 Degrees.

Tuesday also looks partly sunny, but it appears that high pressure system will begin to relent as an upper level trough pushes towards the Eastern United States. High temperatures will be near 50 Degrees.

Wednesday currently looks cloudy with high temperatures near 50 Degrees. One thing that I’m going to be watching for is the possibility for a coastal storm system trying to form. Right now, it appears that this storm might wait until Thursday and Halloween to impact our weather.

Stormy Weather Possible Next Thursday & On Halloween: The weather pattern around Thursday and Halloween looks potentially quite stormy across Western and Central Mass. This stormy weather could impact Halloween activities that will be occurring on Thursday and Halloween.

The reason for this potentially stormy weather has to do with a strong upper-level trough of low pressure that’s expected to push into the Eastern United States during the second half of next week.

There’s the possibility that the energy from this strong upper-level trough of low pressure may lead to the development of a coastal storm system that forms near the Mid-Atlantic coast & moves into New England during Thursday into Halloween.

If that wasn't enough, I am going to be closely watching Tropical Storm Melissa, which is located in the central Caribbean. It is possible that at least some of the energy and moisture from Melissa could be pulled into this whole weather system leading to a stronger storm.

As of midday today, Tropical Storm Melissa is located in the central Caribbean. It is expected that Melissa will sit and spin over the central and western Caribbean for about the next 5 days or so until that big upper-level trough pulls it out of the Caribbean. It is also expected that Melissa will become a hurricane over the next couple of days & is likely to impact Jamaica, Cuba and the Bahamas this weekend into the first half of next week.

How Melissa interacts with this entire stormy weather pattern is very uncertain & it is something that needs to be watched closely. I want to emphasize though that I AM NOT forecasting nor am I expecting Melissa to directly impact our area as a tropical storm or hurricane. Instead, I could see a scenario where some of the energy and moisture from Melissa is transferred into that coastal storm causing it to bulk up a bit.

As of right now, I think that next Thursday could feature rain all day long. It is possible that the rain might be heavy at times. High temperatures will be near 55 Degrees.

Rain then looks to continue through all of next Thursday and probably through all of Halloween & the rain may be heavy at times. Temperatures next Thursday night and Halloween will be in the low to mid 50s.

At this point, there’s also the potential for easterly winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 40 mph to occur throughout next Thursday, next Thursday night and on Halloween.

Early indications seem to point towards this being a pretty big rain storm with rain totals of at least 1 to 2 inches possible. Some data is suggesting upwards of 3 inches of rain could occur with this storm.

Given all of the Halloween activities occurring around next Thursday and on Halloween, I will be updating you often on the latest with what might occur.

Another Round Of Showers Can Be Expected From Late Tonight Through Wednesday Morning Across Western & Central Mass

For The Rest Of This Afternoon: Lots of sunshine can be expected throughout the rest of this afternoon. Temperatures will be between 60 and 65 Degrees. Winds will be Southwest at 10 to 20 mph.

Tonight & Wednesday: A cold front is expected to push through the area during Wednesday morning. This front will not be anywhere near as strong as the one we had on Monday morning. Still though, this front will bring with it a round of widespread showers from late tonight through Wednesday morning.

Skies are expected to become cloudy during this evening. I then expect to see widespread showers overspread Western Mass between about midnight and 2 am and then overspread Central Mass between about 2 am and 4 am Wednesday morning.

Widespread showers are then expected to continue into a large portion of Wednesday morning across the entire area. Heavy downpours can be expected with some of the showers that move through.

The showers are expected to come to an end across Western Mass between 10 am and 12 pm and then come to an end across Central Mass between about 11 am and 1 pm.

Rainfall totals from late tonight through Wednesday morning look to average around one half of an inch (0.50”) or so.

Even though the widespread showers will be done by midday Wednesday, there looks to be the possibility of a couple of isolated showers across the region during Wednesday afternoon.

Low temperatures tonight will be between 45 and 50 Degrees. Winds will be South to Southwest at 7 to 15 mph.

High temperatures on Wednesday will be between 60 and 65 Degrees. Winds will be South to Southwest at 10 to 20 mph.

Thursday Through Friday: More clouds than sunshine can be expected on Thursday. High temperatures will be near 55 Degrees. Winds will be Southwest at 10 to 20 mph.

Thursday night looks partly cloudy with low temperatures near 40 Degrees. Winds will be West at 8 to 16 mph.

Friday looks to feature a mixture of some sunshine and lots of clouds. High temperatures will be near 55 Degrees.

This Weekend: A large high pressure system looks to control the weather throughout this weekend.

Saturday is expected to be sunny to partly sunny with high temperatures between 50 and 55 Degrees.

Sunday looks sunny with high temperatures near 50 Degrees.
